The work addressed in this paper is the analytic investigation of the steady thin film flow of non-Newtonian Johnson-Segalman fluid on vertical cylinder for lifting and drainage problems. The arised equation in the mathematical modelling is a highly nonlinear first order differential equation. We use the analytical methods, homotopy analysis method and a modification of differential transform method based on Adomian polynomials. Effects of important physical quantities on velocity field are demonstrated graphically with comprehensive discussions.
